The Mark Paine Memorial Scholarship
​The Mark Paine Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Marks legacy as a former standout Saratoga High School hockey goaltender - who tragically passed away in February 2024. Mark was a key figure in the history rich Saratoga High School hockey program. He played five seasons for the Blue Streaks from 1995 to 2000, earning recognition as a First-Team All-State goaltender, and helping lead the team to the schools first ever New York State Championship in 1999. Mark continued to excel in hockey, playing four seasons at Division III SUNY Cortland. Through The Mark Paine Foundation - The funds we raise not only get reinvested as a scholarship, but also to support the Saratoga Youth Hockey Organization, Saratoga Little League, and both high school programs. We hope to grow this to other youth programs in the future. Through this scholarship, we aim not only to support students, but also to provide grants, equipment, and funding for future programming that will benefit these programs for years to come. We encourage all eligible students to apply for this scholarship, as it is not only a tribute to Mark’s legacy, but also an opportunity to further your educational goals and make a lasting impact on the community.
